“Bertram Quality Will Meet or Exceed the Expectations of Our Customers.”

This is the policy by which we live by at Bertram. Every Bertram must not only meet the standards set by RINA and NMMA, but our own internal standards take it to another level far beyond what is required of any shipyard. Our rigorous requirements must be met through every design, development, and manufacturing stage. Each boat is tested in “Real World” conditions and every system is both double and triple checked to ensure our customers’ satisfaction.

Bertram Quality is integral starting right at the design phase of our development. All layouts and arrangements are continuously reviewed for improvements. In production, the boats endure multiple inspections at every stage of the process. Quality Gates are set up in lamination, assembly, and delivery. At each quality gate there is a specified set of standards that must receive the personal signature of the inspector and the production team leader in order for assembly to continue through the process.

We use many state of the art and conventional tools throughout our quality stages. State of the art tools are used throughout our quality gates such as ultrasonic testing of every hull, deck, and bridge to ensure our gel coat and lamination are of the proper thicknesses. Every aspect is sound checked to search for defects that may exist. Every shaft is dial indicated in seven different locations to verify straightness and roundness. All underwater gear is also tested for continuity to our bonding system. All electrical and mechanical systems are tested twice before the boats are even set in the water. Once in the water, all electrical and mechanical systems are rechecked and operated under real world conditions. Once these processes are complete, each Bertram must pass a performance sea trial in the bay. This not only includes the engines performance, but also a test for vibration, steering, and acceleration. Finally, fit and finish is verified once again to ensure we deliver only the world’s best sport fishing yacht to its owner.
