LOCAL BOAT BUILDER, BERTRAM YACHTS, TO REPRESENT TAMPA BAY COMMUNITY AT THE 2018 TAMPA BOAT SHOW
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TAMPA, Fla. (August, 4 2018) Local yacht builder, Bertram Yachts, will showcase its Bertram 35 at the 2018 Tampa Boat Show, Sept. 7-9, representing Tampa’s sustained growth in local business expansion.
Iconic boat builder, Bertram yachts, established roots in Tampa, Fla., July 2016, under new ownership of Italian owner and industrialist, Beniamino Gavio – with plans to bring over 200 employment opportunities into the community and increase the marine economy on Florida’s West coast. In just two years, the company has hired over 100 new employees and continues to rapidly expand, with plans for new models.
With the launch of the Bertram 35 in 2016, the builder has delivered eighteen boats, including international deliveries to Bermuda, Italy, Japan, Panama and Puerto Rico. In July 2018, the company launched a 61-foot model – expected to set new standards for boats in its class. The model made its first public appearance during an exclusive community unveiling at Tampa Yacht and Country Club. The company has announced plans to begin production on a 50-foot boat, in 2019.
While Bertram Yachts is raising the industry standards and breaching the status quo, the company stays true to the missions and standards established by founder Dick Bertram in 1960 – which positioned the company to be the original frontrunner in the sportfish yacht industry. “Bertram is navigating into the future on the standards of excellence and innovation set by my father,” said Morgan Bertram. “The boats we are building out of Tampa today are state-of-the-art in design, engineering, technology and materials, with innovation and craftsman unlike any other.”
With advanced technology, and innovative techniques and engineering, the Bertram 35’ is a vessel built with superior fishing capabilities and innovative luxuries in mind. Each boat is built to semi-custom specifications, with top-of-the-line standard equipment, such as a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, diesel power, and exquisite interior finishes and décor.
Each hull is molded and constructed using a vinyl ester composite infusion process and reinforced with Kevlar keel and strakes. Each hull, designed by Sarasota native, Michael Peters Yacht Design, contains Bertram’s iconic deep-v hull design, which allows for a smooth ride, in waters some wouldn’t dare battle. The innovative techniques implemented in the engineering process, make the speed of the 35’ desirable for offshore boaters on Tampa’s Gulf Coast to get to their destination in a reasonable amount of time.
Deep propeller pockets permit for a 2’6” shallow draft, allowing boaters to explore the shallow waters of Tampa Bay. The 12’5” wide beam allows anglers to maneuver the cockpit seamlessly – and cruisers enough room to relax and host friends in a comfortable environment, unlike any other boat of its size.
“The new 35 represents the absolute best of both worlds; classic Bertram styling and deep-V hull design built using the most modern boatbuilding materials including vacuum-infused laminates, sophisticated 24v DC electrical systems, and exquisite interior and joinery,” said CEO, Peter Truslow. “Yes, the 35’ is comfortable, but she’s also as rugged and offshore capable as any Bertram ever built.”
