All mechanical components have been selected based on 45 years of boat-building experience. These components help to achieve the high standard of performance and the enduring reliability that these vessels are known for. All Bertrams include easy-access engine rooms with supplementary access entry through the cockpit sole for convenience. Key mechanical components are located aft of the engines in a dedicated machinery room with a high gloss molded machinery flat, providing a cleaner workspace and clear acoustic separation barrier that prevents machinery noise from penetrating into the cabins.

All engine room air is routed through a two-step filtration system, combining hull side demister grills with down-draft water separating air plenum and minimizes the effects of corrosion in all machinery areas. Bertrams place exclusive, patented Delta-T ventilation system, which successfully maintains the engine room dry, resulting in less maintenance. The Delta-T's innovative design also dramatically reduces combustion and propulsion noise levels on the yachts.

Bertram plumbing joints are securely bonded. All hoses are also double clamped for added protection. Through-hulls are composed of bronze and embedded into the fiberglass, providing added strength and long lasting durability.

Exclusive to the Bertram construction is the unique placement of the fuel tanks that are strategically located along the center of the yacht. This unique placement of the tanks, provides an array of advantages to the ride by adding to the overall strength, balance and reliability of the structure. All Bertram fuel tanks are baffled, using only the best fittings, and are laminated for fire resistance. Additionally, all tanks, water, holding and fuel systems are constructed well beyond industry standards and then pressure tested for a full 24 hours. By using gel coated liners, Bertram's fresh water systems consistently provide clean tasting water. All water system control valves are color coded and have independent shut off valves, useful for tracing and maintaining specific regions of the fresh water system.

Safety is the priority in selecting electrical components on all Bertrams. All wiring is created to be robust, straightforward and uncomplicated. The planned supported runs offer the ultimate harness protection and reduced friction points. All distribution panels are engineered to perform above the needed voltage, providing increased insulated protection. All electrical components are the best available and are installed in accordance with all ABYC standards by certified marine electricians.
